CHRISTINE DUHON / Ballet Mistress

Christine Duhon received her early dance training in her home state of Louisiana before beginning her professional career at the Jackson Ballet under the direction of Thalia Mara.  Hailed as a superb technician, Ms. Duhon also danced with the Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Arkansas and Baltimore Ballet.  After a prolific stage career (her repertoire including such ballets as Le Corsaire, Coppelia, Tzigane, the Nutcracker) she began a behind the scenes career as a sought after choreographer and teacher.  She served as the School Director and Ballet Mistress for Ballet Arkansas as well as co-director of Connecticut Contemporary Ballet Theatre and Ballet Mistress at Ballet Theatre in Hartford, CT.    Ms. Duhon’s choreographic style, described as poignant and vital, has provided works that have graced stages across the continent; her works such as Sins Of Our Elders, In The Upper Room and Bones receiving critical accolades.  In addition to her work as a choreographer, Ms. Duhon is a master teacher committed to developing young talent.  She developed and directs the BP Academy Summer Intensive Program and acts as the director of the Ballet Pensacola Youth Ensemble.    Due to her continuing efforts, BP Academy students consistently win positions in prestigious schools and companies such as Atlanta Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Lines, Houston Ballet, and Orlando Ballet. email


NANCY HALLER

Ms. Haller received her early training at the Elvie DeMarko School in Pensacola. She continued to train at the University of Oklahoma as a dance major and later in New York, Atlanta and Memphis. Ms. Haller is active in community theatre as an actress and choreographer. She has been teaching dance for 9 years. At Kaleidoscope she specializes in teaching Tap, Jazz and Children's Division classes. email


AMY ROMINGER

Ms. Rominger received her early training at the Ellensburg Youth Ballet in Washington under the direction of Christine Ziegler. She continued her training at the Redmond Ballet Academy and the Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She attended college at the North Carolina School of the Arts where she majored in both ballet and modern dance. Ms. Rominger earned her bachelors degree from the University of Washington and also has an elementary teaching certificate. She has taught elementary school and pre-school children and has 10 years of experience teaching ballet and modern dance. email

 

HALEY BENTLEY

Ms. Bentley started ballet at the age of nine under the direction of Patricia Brewer-Jones, Elena Carter, Meg Potter and Joseph Wyatt at Oregon Ballet Theatre. While continuing her training under the instruction of Mrs. Jones, she received various scholarships to prestigious schools in the nation as well as full scholarships to Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, WA where she trained for three years under Flemming Halby, Bruce Wells, Abbie Siegel, Sonia Dawkins to name a few. From there she trained on full scholarship at Pacific Artists Ballet Theatre (now The Portland Ballet) under the direction of Nancy Davis, Mrs. Jones, Carol Schultz, Alex Ballard and Elizabeth Guerin. There she performed works by Balanchine protégé, John Clifford. After spending two years there Haley made a full circle back to Oregon Ballet Theatre, now under the direction of Christopher Stowell and Damara Bennett. During her time there she performed works such as Balanchine's The Four Temperaments, Balanchine's The Nutcracker, Balanchine's Raymonda, a modern piece by Josie Mosley and had works choreographed on her by Paul DeStrooper, Artistic Director of Ballet Victoria in British Columbia. email
